LARA will “Stock the Shelves” for REALTOR® Volunteer Days

Lakes Area REALTORS® Association Furthering Commitment to Local Food Pantry

ELKHORN, WI (June 1, 2022) -- This June, the Lakes Area REALTORS® Association (LARA) will be participating in the 2022 REALTOR® Volunteer Days, giving local REALTORS® an opportunity to showcase the time and effort they’ve dedicated to Walworth County communities. In partnership with the National Association of REALTORS®, Walworth, Racine and Kenosha County Realtors® will join in on the nationwide philanthropic initiative while maximizing the impact of their volunteer time.

Area broker offices are encouraged to collect donations of specific food items and then bring them to the LARA office at specific hours on Thursday, June 9 where LARA staff and representatives will accept donations. Individual offices may also choose to donate to another food pantry in their community.

“Across the country, almost 66% of all REALTORS® volunteer monthly in their community. Giving back is part of who we are as both people and as professionals,” said Denise Schultz, LARA CEO. “Together with NAR, we encourage local REALTORS® who have a heart for service and a passion for giving back to participate in filling the shelves at the Walworth County Food Pantry or another local food pantry.

As part of REALTOR® Volunteer Days, which will be held the week of June 4-12, NAR is encouraging associations, brokerages and REALTORS® nationwide to organize and participate in a local volunteer activity of their choice, and log their hours in the REALTORS® Are Good Neighbors program.

The Lakes Area REALTORS® Association is a regional advocate for REALTORS® and property owners’ rights while promoting high standards of practice and professionalism. The local trade association, a chapter of the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA) and National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), is located at 1560 Country Club Parkway in Elkhorn and has over 600 members.
